Axedale Solar Farm

We power the
future, now

Experienced renewable energy developers, FRV, are developing a new source of sustainable, renewable energy near Bendigo, Victoria.

Welcome to

Axedale Solar Farm

The Axedale Solar Farm is a renewable energy project by FRV Services Australia (FRV). The project is currently in the development phase.

Key Benefits

Lightning Bolt Icon

Generating Clean Energy

The solar farm will generate power from the site’s abundant solar resource, meeting energy demand

Leaf Icon

Reduce Emissions

If realised, the solar farm will remove 200,000 tonnes of CO2 per year

Worker Builder Icon

Create Jobs

Up to 150 construction jobs and 5 ongoing local jobs after completion

Axedale Solar Farm will use state-of-the-art technology, allowing panels to track the sun

Clouds With Storm

This technology is extremely efficient, operating in low light and cloudy weather to generate clean electricity with minimal noise, water consumption or waste.

Solar Panel Icon

The solar farm will use solar photovoltaic (PV) panels similar to those installed on homes, businesses, schools and hospitals throughout Australia. Once constructed, Axedale Solar Farm will generate clean energy for up to 30 years.

Ecology Environment Nature Icon

The panels are supported by driven piles that will create minimal disturbance to the land. In fact, most of FRV’s operational Australian solar farms support the grazing of sheep in-between solar panels, once the solar farm is operational.

Site Selection

FRV considers that this location is suitable for the project due to

Additional land for development is not currently being sought, as the project has been designed to match the available network capacity in this area

Sun Icon

Excellent solar irradiation

Abundant sunlight and favourable weather conditions to produce reliable and affordable green energy

Leaves Icon

Low level of environmental impact

The site has been largely cleared and disturbed by previous land uses, meaning the project will minimise impacts on native flora and fauna

Wheat Icon

Avoiding the best Agricultural Land

The site avoids strategic agricultural land and is currently used for grazing, which is planned to continue during operation of the solar farm

Ground Plan Icon

Level terrain

The land is largely flat, reducing visual impacts and allowing for cost effective construction

Lightning Bolt Icon

Proximity to the National Grid

The adjacent transmission line has capacity to export renewable energy into the network, and avoids the need for new overhead transmission lines

Truck Icon

Excellent Transport Links

The site is well connected to the State Road network

Location

Located on private land within the Greater Bendigo and Campaspe Shire LGA (Taungurung Country), the project will connect to an on-site terminal station.

Planning Process

The project has achieved a planning permit and will soon commence construction.

Community Solar Field

Community Benefits

The project would involve a suite of community benefits during construction and operation.
